Before & After:Colorful,Modern BathrooM

The Story

This primary bathroom had a good layout to work with but was in desperate need of an update. The goals in the redesign were to make the shower feel more open, make the bathroom equipped for aging in place, and add the client’s style into the space. The trio of blue glazed tiles for the shower walls was the jumping off point for the design of the space. The shower floor is complemented with indigo penny tiles. We used a subtle quartz for the shower bench, curbs, and vanity countertop. A warm natural wood vanity adds warmth and texture, while accents of chrome plumbing fixtures, hardware, lighting, and medicine cabinets give a mid-century feel. To make a space that makes aging in place easy, a chair height toilet was installed with a toilet paper holder that doubles as a grab bar, a low entry shower with a bench and grab bars, and a handheld shower head option. Two features that can not be seen but is a favorite is the heated floors and a heated towel bar.
